Bianca Chandôn

Apparel Design

Technical / Production Design

In 2014, photographer, model, and professional skateboarder Alex Olson, the son of legendary California skateboarder Steve Olson, established his second brand, Bianca Chandôn. The brand draws inspiration from late-70s counterculture, as indicated by its name, which merges the first name of style icon and Studio 54 queen Bianca Jagger with the last name of French playboy and race car driver Olivier Chandon de Brailles. Despite Olson’s unassuming personal style, Bianca Chandôn successfully straddles the line between skate brand and high fashion label through a range of garments that feature subdued graphics and textured prints and fabrics, many of which are produced in the U.S.

Working as a Designer, I balanced a diverse range responsibilities spanning product development, marketing, and retail. Day-to-day operations consisted of designing apparel graphics, managing freelance graphic artists, creating marketing collateral, handling technical production of all products, communicating with vendors, conception of retail installations, photo re-touching, and designing all seasonal catalogs.
